Quarterly, Deadlines: September 1, December 1, March 1, June 1
Description

The Edith Glick Shoolman Foundation’s primary focus will be to support organizations and programs in the New York and Boston metropolitan areas which provide opportunities for children from birth through the elementary years.

Foundation support will be available for a broad range of programs including, but not limited to those which:

  • encourage early childhood literacy;
  • encourage a healthy lifestyle;
  • encourage empathy and ethical behavior;
  • encourage children to explore the world around them;
  • introduce children to the worlds of music and art;
  • provide support to parents, caregivers and teachers.

Programs may take place in a public or private school setting, or in such other venues as community centers, botanical gardens, museums and libraries.

The Foundation will consider funding specific programs that serve older children provided such programs are new initiatives. Requests for general operating support for existing programs that serve older children will not be favored.

  • Applications received by December 1, will be considered at the February Board meeting.
  • Applications received by March 1, will be considered at the May Board meeting.
  • Applications received by June 1, will be considered at the August Board meeting.
  • Applications received by September 1, will be considered at the November Board meeting.
